My experience with english and in this course

This semester I have taken the third course of english of my career and in this context I created this blog. In the first, I believe that this course was gonna be so bored because the anterior semester I made the previous level of english and I can say that was a torture. In any case, an explication can be that we were finish the strike and all teachers had flexibility with the presence except the teacher of english. In this conditions english was the course that I more hated, but I think that the course was objectively monotone, although the teacher is a good person and concerned that we learned.


I have always hated learn english, always I think that is difficult and always I have had bad grades in this. Really I never have found the meaning or the motivation for learn english and I think that is always bored.


I will not say that with this course I found the meaning of study english, but I can say that has been an of the best, good teacher and classmates. I must admit that sometimes I was bored but the teacher have methods very recreational and funny for teach, but also have parts in when we had to read texts and answer the questions.This last is bored and classic in the english courses but maybe is good for learn. I also appreciate the homework of make a blogspot because is a dynamic form for practice english.

Facebook

I can say that facebook is my favourite website. I spend a lot of time in this website, because have too much options and applications. When I was more child, spendt near all of my free time in msn, where I talked with my classmates and friends. But with facebook I can talk more fast with my friends, I can find people that I couldn't see for much time, old friends, or know new people. Also one can share important information, for example academic or of protests, I have fast access of the activities or conversations of my friends, can see pictures and comment this. Even you can have talk with more than one person at time.

But not all in facebook is good, regularly I spend more time that I should. The hours pass and pass and some time I can't stop to talk with some people or I see the wall and the profile of other people when I'm bored and never start my obligations. For other hand, one lost too much privacy and the all friends can see with who you are talk or do it regularly. In the worst case you can neglect and some person can into in your facebook and see your's conversation and intimacy.

My family and his story

Now I will tell you some things about my family. My mother and my father were born in Concepcion, and my brothers were born in Chiguayante, and in this place was the first house of my family. While my father was studying risk prevention in the University, my mother was renting a warehouse where she sold eggs for pay the study of my father and maintain the family.

After, when my father finished her studies, they arrived to live to Santiago, and how they non know the city and had heard that was very danger, they decided renting an apartment in Las Condes and sold the house of Chiguayante. In this place I was born and live to the four years, so that I don't remember this, for later buy a house in La Reina. In this house we follow live, but we not yet finished to pay this.

With the time, when I was seven years old my father left the house but we have continued watching it and he continued bringing money for our expenses, but my mother had fear that my father would stop to give money and for this reason she studied hairdresser. Now she is a housewife and an independent hairdresser, wich gives more money for her personal expenses.

My eldest brother have a apartment and my other brother finished to study law.

My favourite movie: ''El dia de la bestia''

This was filmed in nineteen ninety five and his director is the spanish Alex de la Iglesia. The story es very funny but have too much suspense and drama, and in his near of two hours of duration, achieve get the attention of the people.

The story begin with the principal character that is a priest and with a lot of suspense and even I believed that was a terror film. After, start to appear funny situations and characters, but inside of a important mision that is prevent the born of Satanas in the night of chrismas. The priest is an intellectual of the holy scriptures and deciphered that this night would begin the apocalypse and convinced some people for help to prevent this, with very evidence, arguments and with paranormal situations. Even in one moment of the movie appear a black goat in a ritual that could walk in two legs and threat the equip of the priest.

Finally in the place and time of the Satanas birth, they have a fight with the black goat, and the only survivor are the priest and one friend of him, who kill Satanas with a revolver. Later, the black goat was a fascist businessman with a good family and had respect for the society, but in secret he beat and killed poor people. In the end, the movie was a metaphor and a social critical.

The author that I admire of social anthropology

Garcia Canclini is my favourite author in the theory culture. I think that he have a marxist tradition but in the basic terms, in for example, the class division of the society. I can say that he is not culture materialism but his theory is based in the great importance of the economics aspect in the configuration of the culture or ideology.

His theory say that exist some called the popular culture in a  relation of opposition to the dominant class in the great societies or our societies. The dominant class intent to reproduce this ideology to the people through the symbols, messages and daily life. This is reproduce in the daily life in the case of the symbols through the advertising, education and mass media, and in the everyday relationships through the institucional hierarchy, the relations with the boss in the case of the workers, and even in the relation of competition with our friends. I can relation this with the ¨micro fisic of the power¨ theory of Foucault, of the reproduction of the dominant values in the all everyday social structure of the system.

In this situation, the popular culture is the all meanings, relationships and powers of the people, creating under the relation of domination. This can be the aspiration of will be the rich class, the identity in opposition of they or in the case of very marginal people, the constituion of alternative power or one for the destruction of the bourgeois State.

My favourite picture

This is my favourite picture because I think that have a great meaning for me. In first place this picture was in the way from Chiguayante to Talcahuano. This place is important for me because my family (father, mother and my two brothers) before to came to Santiago were live in Chiaguayante and all family of my mother live near of Concepcion, this last is also important because I live with my mother and my brothers since I was child.

This is my familiar reason, but the photo how image I think that transmit sentiments. The long way of the picture is in a industrial district, was cold and the constructions were very rusty. I was walking in the first part of the way and can not see the end. In summary I can say that with this picture I feel homesickness, the lonely of the person in the modern life, living between the cars and the industries, or trying to live between the cold rusty. Really I feel that only can make a description of this picture, but I can not say what is the reason which I feel these things.

My favourite pet

(A simple dog)

I love the animals since I was a children. I enjoyed to go the zoo and my favourite animal was the zebra. With the time I hate that the animals are caged and I never back to go there.

In the story of my life I have had many pets, they were for example: dog, cats chickens, fishes, birds and turtles, but now I only have a dog. This dog isn't the first that i have, when I was four years old with my family we had a baby dog that her name was Pupi. We loved Pupi for thirteen years, but she died two years ago. All us were very sad and I cry too much. After this I stop to eat red meat or chicken and now I have one year without eating this.

Two months later the died of Pupi we gift us a new baby dog which name is Laica, now she have three years old. I think that the best pet is the dog, they are very funny, faithful, loving and protective. Is a pet for anybody and they only want food and some time for them.

The notebook, my favorite device

I think that the notebook is the device more useful that i have. This is some slow and big in comparation with others notebook's, but It's because is very old. I have this since four years ago and when my dad gave me this, it belonged of a friend of him.

I use my notebook, for many things. I can talk and make works with my friends and classmates in facebook and this is more cheapest that the telephone. Also, I can listen my favourite music, play games, read the news and read the mails that arrived me from my differents organizations.

For this reasons, I use my notebook hours and hours, It's have the function of many device and is so funny, but... I think that I need a new.

My favourite music

One of the fisrt bands that I liked was The Ramones when I was near of eleven years old. Every day I listened this music in my brother's rooms. After, I listened there other's groups but of the punk style, for example: Misfits, Sex Pistols, The Clash, Los Fiskales, etc. When I was in the second grade of high school, I knew some of hip hop music with politic message and I liked some chilean groups. Through time it start to like me the popular music, for example the cumbia, because in the University all people listen this. Now I haven't a favourite music band

About me

 I'm nineteen years old and mi name is Jose Herrera. I live in Santiago with my mother and my brothers. I study anthropology in the University of Chile and I'm in the second year of mi carreer. I like the punk music, something of hip hop and cumbia. I intrested in politics and I feel me identified with the anarchism, but I believe in the horizontal organization of the people without leaders as a tool of the social revolution and the organization of the society.
